Two Days til Mozambique!

In two days I will be on my way to Mozambique. It's going to be a ridiculous amount of traveling. But, as my 80 year old grandpa said about his recent trip to Australia "I plan on having a good time". I absolutely loathe flying but really, he's right, you can't go into it with any other attitude.

I'm so excited to see Mozambique, a country that endured an intense civil war from 1977 - 1992. Due to the war, tourism was non existent, meaning that today 88 % of its land is uncultivated and the beaches are essentially untouched, thus leaving people to believe that it is "The Pearl of Africa". Because of its colonization by Portugal in the 1500's, the official language of Mozambique is Portuguese. Thankfully, Amelia's sister speaks Portuguese and as I discovered while living in Argentina, the language is pretty similar to Spanish.

I will be in Africa for a total of 18 days, 7 of which will be spent in Swaziland, where we are going to The Bushfire Music Festival with a group of people who are working in the Peace Corps.

Unfortunately, I somehow managed to lose my camera in the past couple of weeks but I will steal photo's from Amelia and post them later.

Happy Summer!
