Ridin on a bus in Cambodia

Early Saturday morning, I left Phnom Penh for Battambang. Buses are the most common form of transportation to get around Cambodia. They are hardly air conditioned, the seats are small (not as small as China Airlines) and are all together pretty comical. Posted at the front of the bus are the rules "No Smoking, No Eating, No Spitting". Fair enough. There is also a TV at the front of the bus that plays videos of Cambodians singing karaoke as well as comedy shows showcasing Cambodian humor, which I am still trying to figure out.

The stops along the way are equally entertaining. There are an array of snacks, including fruits, cakes, and dumplings.

My bus broke down for about an hour on the side of the road. I ended up talking to an elderly Cambodian man who spoke English. He was a former high school teacher. He asked me what I thought the "psychological reason was for arguments". I said I didn't know. He simply said, people have different opinions about life. Truth.
