Backpackers haven just down the road from my school.
A lot of the restaurants serve unlimited free beer with an order of pizza.
Wanton noodle soup.
Phnom Penh's mosque is in Beong Kak.
I got an hour foot message here for $7!
These girls love to say hello to me when I walk by.
The Beong Kak Education Center, the school that I teach at, is located in the Beong Kak district. The area is located next to the Beong Kak Lake. It is one of the poorest districts in Phnom Penh and its residents are currently under pressure from the government to relocate to an area outside of the city due to the fact that big businesses have bought the the rites to the lake. These businesses plan to fill the lake in with sand in order to build supermarkets. Because the economy has recently taken a dive, evacuation has been slow. Beong Kak is one of two backpacking districts in Phnom Penh. This is good for me because there are many cheap bars and restaurants at hand during my lunch break.
